Dr. Semyon Ioffe

Dr. Semyon Ioffe is an internationally-known researcher who has authored and co-authored over 60 scientific papers related to the workings of the brain. Born and raised in Russia, he left due to religious persecution. In Canada since 1976, Dr. Ioffe spent the bulk of his professional life at the University of Manitoba. His last assignment there was as the Director of the Neonatal Neurophysiology Laboratory.

His work at the University of Manitoba was focused on foetal brain research where he led a 10 year study that determined how to test for FAS in newborns and how to counteract it. Dr. Ioffe has presented scientific papers at international meetings throughout Canada, the United States, France, Sweden, Holland, England, Australia and Israel. As an entrepreneur, he holds patents for products in the pharmaceutical and fitness fields and has consulted for many privately owned firms.

Currently Dr. Ioffe spends his time advocating the many benefits of SSRM Tek in the effort to treat the more than 400 million people worldwide with mental health problems and increase efficiency and productivity in industry and defense.

Education:

1974                 Degree in Physiology, Moscow State University
Note:  Upon arriving in Canada, Dr. Ioffe’s further education and his body of work were accepted at a PhD level, leading to his position at the University of Manitoba.

1970                 Degree in Electronics Engineering, Moscow Forest Technical Institute
Faculty of Information and Measurement Instrumentation

Professional Experience:

2006 – Present            Northam Psychotechnologies, CEO, Ottawa, Canada
NPT was created to handle the technological development and marketing of SSRM Tek family of technologies.

1986 – 2002                 DDS Holding Inc, President, Winnipeg, Canada

1981 – 1990                 Director of the Neonatal Neurophysiological Laboratory
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.
Led research of newborn children with foetal alcohol syndrome to understand the correlation between the amount of alcohol mothers ingested during pregnancy and newborns’ future development. For five years after leaving the University, Dr. Ioffe continued to publish scientific papers based on his research. During this time, he also was instrumental in instigating cooperative brain research between the University of Manitoba and the Brain Research Institute, Moscow.

1976 – 1981                 Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics, Prenatal Physiology
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.
Led complicated studies in foetal respiration that investigated breathing and sleep patterns of foetuses.

1971 – 1975                 Assistant Professor, Brain Research Institute, Moscow, USSR
Lead researcher for a team that studied cellular mechanisms of conditional reflexes and memory. He was honoured with a silver medal for this work from the Scientific Research Exhibition that was open to all scientists throughout the Soviet Union.

1969 – 1971                 Research Assistant, Spaceship Research Institute, Moscow, USSR
Developed a telemetry system for human controlled spaceship flights that allowed for effective management of flight data.
